I first heard J-Rocc spin the instrumental at a Qbert/Craze show at El Rey around 98-99 and spent the next few months (along with Row and At) trying to figure it out. Fortunately, I went to Fat Beats (and you know how they wrote out those little descriptions about the song on a piece of paper) and the tag on this one record read something like "This is the one with that ILL piano hook that you've been trying to find!".
Sure enough, it was the right record so I copped doubles, Speed Racer'd it home, and proceeded to do my best Melo-D Menu Mix impression.
Moral of the story: If you're gonna bite, might as well be from some of the best.
